The German Theater Project for High Schools
A creative competition designed for German language learners and instructors in high schools that culminates in a one day festival on the Indiana University Bloomington campus.
The Indiana University Honors Program in Foreign Languages
IUHPFL sends about thirty students to each of its seven-week programs throughout the world every summer. Each student is placed with a local family selected by the coordinators abroad. The focal point of the program is intensive study conducted in the foreign language; students are taught by qualified teachers in classes created exclusively for the Honors Program participants. Beginning in the summer of 2015, the German-language site for IUHPFL will be Graz, Austria.
World Language Festival
This is a biennial language showcase for K-12 Instructors and students that takes place on the IUB campus.
Indiana University Cinema
IU Cinema hosts international films, movie makers, critics, and actors, all of which are open to the public. Check the calendar often for German selections.
In Addition
If you have an inquiry or an idea that does not fit any of the topics above, please feel free to contact our Outreach Coordinator. We have hosted "Oktoberfest" for Lakeview Elementary, provided activity booths for Lotus Blossoms, co-hosted visiting high school students to the annual Lotus Music Festival, and arranged presenters for area retirement communities.
