German House and Stammtisch
German House offers extracurricular activities pertaining to German language and culture(s)—for example, the weekly Stammtisch, regular German film showings, cultural events and holiday parties, study abroad information sessions, and more.
Stammtisch happens every Monday during the semester at 6:00pm at Bear's Place and all German-levels are welcome! Join us for friendly conversation and a free non-alcoholic drinks!
The department sponsors a weekly Kaffeestunde as a setting for informal conversation in German outside the classroom. Students at all levels, as well as faculty and associate instructors, are invited to attend. Kaffeestunde currently takes place on Wednesdays, from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. in the Germanic Studies common area in GISB, 3115W.
Students of Dutch also meet regularly for conversation. Please contact Esther Ham for more information.
Students of Norwegian meet monthly for conversation as well. Please contact Gergana May for more information.
Please note: Kaffeestunde, Koffietijd, and Norsk Kaffepause do not take place during the summer sessions or during the first or last weeks ("dead-week") of classes during the fall and spring semesters.
