“History knows many periods of dark times in which the public realm has been obscured and the world become so dubious that people have ceased to ask any more of politics than that it show due consideration for their vital interests and personal liberty.”
Hannah Arendt
This project offers a space that brings together students and faculty seeking to explore modalities of inhabiting and shaping public discourses from a perspective informed by humanistic knowledge and practices. It aims to explore resources, develop strategies, and form habits that enable the reframing and opening of debates around major geopolitical questions such as the human and technology or the implosion of frames of reference that have organized our thinking over the last centuries.
Conveners: Johannes Türk (joturk@iu.edu) and David Gould (digould@iu.edu)
