Topic: Syrian Refugees in Germany: Welcome Culture, Xenophobia, Antisemitism, and Other Controversies in Contemporary Germany
Why were people fleeing from Syria? How have they been received and how do Syrians in Germany see their future? Why did Germany accept over a million refugees in 2015? What do Germans think about it now and what does that have to do with the Holocaust? What role does antisemitism play – among refugees, among Germans, and in debates about refugees?
Our attempts to address these questions will allow us to better understand the diversity and complexity of Germany today and its history of immigration after WWII.
