In the past fifteen years, 45 students received Ph.D.s in our department, and 43 of those people landed academic positions. We are especially proud of this record, because it represents a collective vote of confidence in our program by our peers.
Our students earn positions in liberal arts colleges as well as research universities. Those who don't immediately secure a tenure-track position often attain one within two to three years. Our recent doctoral graduates are faculty members around the world and across the nation—from Florida State University in Tallahassee to the University of Toronto, and from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, to the University of California in Riverside.
