We focus on a breadth of research in many areas: Language Pedagogy, Linguistics, Literature and Culture, and Philology.
Language Pedagogy encompasses the method and practice of teaching languages—theoretically, conceptually, and as an academic subject.
The Linguistics branch focuses on modern synchronic linguistics (phonology, morphology, syntax) and historical linguistics.
The Literature and Culture branch engages with most aspects of the literature, cultural history, and thought of the German-speaking world since the Middle Ages.
Germanic Philology is broadly defined as the languages, literatures, and cultures of the Germanic peoples from the first centuries CE until around the end of the 14th century.
