About Elaine
Elaine received her BA in Linguistics from Indiana University in 2020, with minors in German and Norwegian. Her focus is on syntax, semantics, and syntax-semantics interface. Her research interests include studying diachronic syntax, modality, and theta roles, pestering her colleagues with semantic facts, and admiring trees (the syntax kind). In addition to Germanic languages, she also dabbles in Turkic languages and in Finnish. Outside of linguistic research, she also enjoys epic poetry (Germanic, Turkic, and Finnish), Tolkien stuff, hardcore punk, collecting weirdly specific enamel pins, and admiring trees (the non-syntax kind).
