David Gould is about to complete an MA in Religion and Culture at the Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany with an MA thesis on the relationship between economy and theology in the work of the Austrian writer Hugo von Hofmannsthal with Joseph Vogl as second reader. He also holds a BA in Germanic Studies and Philosophy from Indiana University, where he submitted an honors thesis on the philosophy of space with distinction. He received the philosophy department’s annual excellence award. He is a participant of the Freiburg year abroad program, where he gained a profound acquaintance with German idealist philosophy.
