David Gould completed an MA in Religion and Culture at the Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany in 2021 with an MA thesis on the relationship between economy and theology in the work of the Austrian writer Hugo von Hofmannsthal with Joseph Vogl as second reader. He also holds a BA in Germanic Studies and Philosophy from Indiana University, where he submitted an honors thesis on the philosophy of space with distinction. He received the philosophy department’s annual excellence award. He is a former participant of the Freiburg year abroad program.
