About Keegan
Keegan is a dual Ph.D. student in Germanic Studies and Religious Studies. In 2014, he graduated summa cum laude with departmental honors in philosophy from Lehigh University and received his M.A. in Philosophy from Georgia State University in 2016. In 2025, he will graduate Phi Beta Kappa from Indiana University with a B.A. in Germanic Studies. He can also competently communicate in French and received a FLAS Fellowship in 2023 to study Norwegian.
Keegan’s main research interests include 18th and 19th-century German intellectual history, political theory, and Ecocriticism. He is also keenly interested in comparative methodology and transcultural exchanges in philosophy and literature, focusing on the German reception of Classical Chinese philosophy by figures like Leibniz, Wolff, Kant, etc. Beyond these specific research topics, Keegan is broadly fascinated by all kinds of underappreciated philosophical thought.
Outside of his studies, Keegan enjoys playing board games, cooking, woodworking, making maple syrup, and experimenting with various kinds of fermentation.
