About Bradley
Bradley Weiss joined Indiana University after completing his MA at the University of Texas, Austin, with research covering a statistical analysis of Latin loanword vocabulary in Old Saxon. Before his MA, Bradley obtained a BA in Classical Languages from the University of Kansas in Lawence, Kansas, where he taught Latin at both the university and high school levels. He has experience in Roman archaeology, having participated in excavations at Pompeii over six seasons. He has also pursued graduate coursework in German at Chonnam National University in Gwangju, South Korea, where, in addition to teaching English at all levels from elementary school through university and beyond, he also gained experience in teaching German as a foreign language. Bradley’s primary interests are Germanic historical linguistics and philology, with a particular focus on the continental historical languages Old Saxon, Middle High German, and Old Frisian, as well as Medieval Studies more broadly. He also has conducted fieldwork and research related to German American communities and their dialects across Texas and the Midwest.
