Thanks to a grant by the Max Kade Foundation, the Institute of German Studies is able to support ten outstanding students taking part in language programs offered by Indiana University in Germany and Austria. Indiana high school students and Indiana University undergraduates with the highest academic achievement receive up to $1,000 to help pay for the cost of travel.
Five of the scholarships usually support Indiana University undergraduate students taking part in the programs in Graz or Freiburg (full-year only). Students should indicate their interest in being considered for one of these scholarships when they apply for the program through the Office of Overseas Study.
The remaining five scholarship are awarded to high school students attending the Indiana University Honors Program in Foreign Language in Graz, Austria. All students admitted to the program will automatically be considered for the scholarship.
